Subaru WRX Concept

Subaru WRX Concept Unveiled at the 2013 New York Auto Show Subaru gave us hints on its next generation WRX by unveiling the all-new WRX Concept today at the 2013 New York Auto Show. The Subaru WRX Concept has a bold and muscular design underlining the turbocharged power and its well known All-Wheel-Drive grip. Featuring a carbon fiber roof, the WRX Concept is significantly lower and wider.  It also features a new hawk-eye headlights design, maintaining Subaru family design heritage. The all-new Subaru WRX Concept is painted in “WR Blue Pearl III”, which modernizes the iconic WRX look yet preserves its traditional Blue color. Riding on BBS “RI-D” One Piece Forged Duralumin wheels with 245/40ZR20 Dunlop tires, the Subaru WRX Concept has a wheelbase of 108.7-inch and measures 178-inch long, 74.4-inch wide and 54.7-inch tall.

2014 Subaru XV Crosstrek Hybrid

Unveiled at the 2013 New York Auto Show, the Subaru XV Crosstrek Hybrid is the first-ever production hybrid vehicle from Subaru.  The XV Crosstrek Hybrid is based on the XV Crosstrek, so it has the same capability and flexibility of the gasoline model only with better fuel efficiency. The Subaru XV Crosstrek Hybrid is powered by a combination of a 2.0-L Boxer engine and a 13.4 horsepower electric motor.  The electric motor uses power from 100v, 13.5kw nickel-metal hydride battery located under a revised rear floor area.  With all the new features added, the Subaru XV Crosstrek Hybrid has basically the same interior size as the gasoline model and weighs about 300 lbls more than the gasoline model. When it goes on sale in fourth quarter of 2013, the 2014 Subaru XV Crosstrek Hybrid will be the most fuel-efficient and lowest-emissions AWD hybrid crossover in the U.S. See “Press Release” for more details.

Subaru VIZIV Concept

Subaru VIZIV Concept (2013) Introducing the VIZIV Concept at the Geneva Motor Show, Subaru gave hints to its future path of the new design direction and technologies.  VIZIV stands for “Vision for Innovation”. Aiming to offer high efficiency and performance on all road surface conditions, the Subaru VIZIV is designed to balance between a solid-looking body and a compact cabin.  It features simple and clean surfaces on the outside, and fun, peacefulness and functionality on the inside.  Despite the compact cabin, the VIZIV Concept offers seats for 4 with generous legroom for rear seat passengers thanks to a lower floor that is made possible by the 100% motor-driven rear wheels in place of the drive shaft. The Subaru VIZIV Concept is powered by a plug-in hybrid system consisting of a 2.0-L Boxer engine, CVT, front motor and two independent rear motors.  The front motor is responsible for both vehicle drive and power generation, whereas the rear motors are for vehicle drive onl
